Wine Tours

Wine Tours

Wine tourism has grown in the past several years and wine tours have made their way into the vacation and bucket list of millions of people. The picturesque wineries across the world offer not only wine tastings but also stunning vineyard views, wine-making process, delectable wine-tasting dinners, and more.

  • Europe—Being the birthplace of modern wine culture and the largest wine-producing region, Europe is the home of scores of excellent wine destinations. Spread around Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, and many other European countries, these wineries offer visitors an insight into the wine culture, techniques of wine production, and sampling of top-notch wines. If you are a wine lover, a European wine tour should be in your bucket list covering the stunning vineyards from Tuscany and Bordeaux to the less-known Porto and Veneto.
  • Peru—The South American country is a mecca for those with a demanding palate. Besides presenting many popular cuisines, it has stored some truly lip-smacking surprises for quenching the thirst of grape lovers. If you are a fan of Pisco Sour—the national liquor of Peru—and are curious to learn about its crafting, visit the Ica bodegas. The southern Peru destination has a number of wineries and Pisco distilleries. Plenty of top-rated restaurants are there across the country to satisfy your craving for Peruvian gastronomy with distinctive cuisine and shots of fine wine.
  • Napa Valley, USA—A wine hotspot that attracts almost 4 million wine lovers every year, Napa Valley has garnered international recognition for producing world-class wines. It is one of the best destinations if you want samplings of exotic wines. Over 450 wineries offer tastings of Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, and other sterling wines. There are also a wide variety of outdoor activities, charming spots, spas, and restaurants for taking a break from wine elitism.
  • Canada—For many people, the Canadian landscape is something that lives under a blanket of snow. Well, you will be surprised to know that it produces enough grapes to be the home to a growing wine industry. The production is still small scale, but the quality is undoubtedly top notch. Okanagan Valley in British Columbia is the largest wine-producing region with more than 100 wineries. Some variations found here are pinot blanc, merlot, pinot gris, and chardonnay. In addition, there are wineries in the Niagara Peninsula, Eastern Townships, Vancouver Island, Nova Scotia, and some other regions.
  • South Africa—The South African vineyards are ahead of their competitors with their incredible diversity and beauty. Add to this a rich history and a broad range of samplings where visitors are spoilt for choices—the draw is irresistible.
The Western Cape is the home to many premier wineries. However, some little-known regions like Franschhoek, Paarl, and Elgin have gained recognition over the past several years.
